About This Program

Provides grants and loans to deploy broadband infrastructure in rural areas lacking sufficient high-speed internet access, supporting economic development, telemedicine, and distance learning.

Key Requirements & Eligibility

  • 1Service area must be entirely in rural areas where 90%+ of households lack 25/3 Mbps service
  • 2Network must deliver at least 100/20 Mbps to all premises in the service area
  • 3Grant funding: up to $25M; loan/grant combinations also available
  • 4Must commit to 10-year service obligation after deployment
  • 5Priority for areas with lowest broadband availability and tribal/high-poverty areas
